Mimosas For Memories

A few weekends ago, I made the trip up to Cincinnati to support one of my best friend's husband in his fundraiser. When I found out it was:
1. An event surrounding brunch foods
2. Included bottomless mimosas
3. Supported an amazing cause
I immediately purchased a ticket! I'm so glad I was able to attend. It was truly an incredible event and I'm proud to call someone so driven one of my friends. He's always working on the next big thing for himself and it was great to be a part of this event in particular.

The fundraiser raised nearly $7,000 for the Alzheimer's Association. All thanks to Mr. Christian Gausvik! Here's a few words about what the event meant to him:

"As a kid growing up in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky I was always drawn to the elders in our community. It was a characteristic that led me to a job in assisted living for my entire college career and pushed me toward a career in medicine. Now as a future Geriatric Physician I want to give back to my community."

"Throughout my time with this special group amongst us I have experienced first hand the tragic effects of Alzheimer’s disease – a disease that rips away the memories and final years of our own family members, friends and neighbors. A disease which impacts more than 5 million Americans and is diagnosed once every 67 seconds in the U.S. Together we can fight for a cure and care for those affected today by supporting the Alzheimer's Association."

I can't wait for next year!
Stay tuned on this page if you'd like to attend :)
It's definitely worth the trip even if you aren't right in the Cincinnati area.

Thanks for stopping by! I love having you following along.
Make sure to stay tuned for some exciting posts this week. Tomorrow starts my series featuring the looks from the fashion spread in Paducah Life's May/June edition.
