Holy cow I'm 24?! When did that happen??

I know 24 is still a young age but does anyone else feel like you turned 18, blinked, then you're the age you are now? Time flies by faster and faster every year. I've definitely tried to live more "in the moment" and cherish every day in the past year. We only have this one life to live so why don't we celebrate every day? There's always, always, always something to smile about.

This has been my biggest growing year to date. I have evolved into the "woman I want to be" and learned how to feel comfortable in my own skin. My happiness has improved and I've experienced increased energy throughout the day. Over the last year and a half, I've experienced a lot of life. The highs and the lows alike. I realized that you can either sulk about the cards life has dealt you with or you can pick up the pieces and learn to smile through it all!

It's all about making the best of what life hands you. Don't get me wrong, I'm no expert at living life. I'm only 24 and I still have days where I'd love to lay in bed all day watching Gilmore Girls. Today I decided to put together a few things I learned over the past year. I hope you guys enjoy!

1. A private life is a happy life.

2. If you see something beautiful in someone, speak it.

3. You can never drink enough water! Add a little lemon.

4. I can be someone else's and still be my own.

5. Surround yourself with people that reflect who you want to be and how you want to feel.

6. Maturing is realizing how many things don't need your comment. This stems from the original quote we all heard growing up, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

7. Spread love wherever you go.

8. It is okay to be angry. It is never okay to be cruel.

9. The grass is greener where you water it.

10. Diet and exercise are the only combo that work. You can run 4 miles a day but if you're eating pizza every night (I understand the temptation!), you'll never see results.

11. What other people think of you is none of your business.

12. You can't love someone else until you love yourself.

13. Keep your curiosity alive. Ask questions. Keep your mind engaged in the world around you. Spend time to get to know the heart of those around you.

14. It's okay to miss people you no longer want in your life.

15. Eat colorfully. Not only is this good for your physical health, it's aids in your mental health. Seeing a plate full of colorful foods can increase your day-to-day happiness.

16. A scented candle and fresh flowers can cure more than you think.

17. Time heals all.

18.  Stop looking for love. It finds you at the most unexpected of times.

19. Make peace with your past.

20. Train your mind to see the good in every situation.

21. God bless a woman with ambition. If you ever feel yourself slipping from that ambition, learn what you need to do to gain it back. Never lose sight of your fire.

22. Take the risk. The reward almost always outweighs the risk. And if you lose, you gain wisdom.

23. The idea is to die young as late as possible.

Enough with all the deep stuff! It's time to pop some Veuve, don't you think?? Cheers to 24! I can't wait to see what's in store for me this next year. I have a feeling this is going to be one of the good ones :)
