My Travel Routine

Happy sunny Monday, dolls!

I’m writing to you all today from the beautiful Lake Michigan! Every year my mom’s side of the family does a big vacation with everyone – aunts, uncles, grand babies, great grand babies – all of us! It’s something that I look forward to every year. I’ll be doing a roundup of this beautiful destination after my trip - stay tuned!

Coming from someone who travels quite often, there is a “method to my madness” when it comes to packing. That being said, I thought I would do a roundup of what exactly that art is. Let’s get started, shall we!?

Well first things first, I lay out every outfit I have planned for that vacation. This includes everything from the clothing itself to the jewelry to the undergarments. Doing this makes my life so much easier on the actual vacation. I just reference the outfit I’ve styled and put those pieces together – then off I go!

Now that this is checked off the to do list, it’s time to pack it all away! I always start with my shoes on the bottom. From there, I delicately lay each item of clothing on top. On top of that, I’ll put my clutches. Notice I leave a little space right above this – that space is there for a reason 😉.

It’s in that little slot that I’ll put my undergarments and swimsuits if that’s part of that trip. It’s the perfect size for something of that nature. After that is complete, I’m done with the right hand side of my suitcase!

Now on to the left hand side…

This is where I keep my toiletries, jewelry and any miscellaneous items that don’t fit on the right hand side. This part of the packing process is very precise. I’ve included a shot of exactly how I pack up all of my little toiletries. This all goes in to a square bag which is placed perfectly in the top right hand corner.

Next to that is my makeup bag. Around these bags, I have all of my hair tools. Now that those are in place, I arrange all of the miscellaneous items that didn’t fall in to those other categories (or just didn’t fit).

I’m all packed. This has been an art that I’ve developed over many years of travelling. It works for me and hopefully it’s helpful to you as well! Thanks so much for stopping by, dolls 😊. I’ll see you back here on Wednesday!
