Stocking Stuffer Gift Guide

Now that {almost all} of the presents are nestled under the tree with care, what on Earth do you stuff those stockings withNot to worry!
I've got ya covered.

There's only so many holiday socks and Reese's trees a girl can have. Adding in a few special items you know you're girl or guy will like is always appreciated! Girls can be so picky but who doesn't love a great new scented candle or faux fur earmuffs?

Below I've attached a few girly stocking stuffers you can snag before Santa comes:
{Not to worry... I've got gifts for the guys attached below as well!}

Holiday Green + Fur

What's the holiday season without a little touch of red and green?

With Christmas morning just a little over a week from now, what better way to celebrate than with some classic Christmas colors? Don't get the wrong idea though. I'm not telling you to throw on your huge holiday sweater with green pants! Holiday color can be celebrated in the simplest of ways.

Take my look below as an example...

Before I throw on layers of baubles from Bauble Bar, an outfit from J.Crew and shoes from DSW, I primp my face. What's a cute outfit without perfect makeup anyways?

Today I've decided to make myself completely vulnerable and show you step-by-step my application of daily makeup. I'm talking from absolutely clean and crisp face to ready for a photo shoot!

Let's Celebrate!

I can't believe the day has come that my blog is 6 months old.
It's so surreal!

Snakeskin + Burgundy

Those temperatures are slowly dropping outside but there are still some days that don't really require wool coats.

After getting into a routine of piling on the layers in the winter, it'll throw a girl off when you pull up Weather Channel to see it's going to be 60° outside. Now that crew neck sweater is going to be just a tad too warm to wear all day. What's a girl to do??

I've got such a simple solution for you all!

Everyone has those simple blouses to wear under blazers or with khakis to wear to work. I threw this simple look together by wearing this snakesprint blouse paired with a puffer vest. Keeps that heat inside while also looking fashionable! This blouse and puffer vest go great with colored pants like I've shown below. Check it out!

All About Dad

Today's post is a mix of sappy and a gift guide!

If you're stopping by to figure out what to buy your beloved Dad, just scroll past these pictures of me and my Dad to find a few ideas! (It can be so tough to find the person who has EVERYTHING a great gift.) I've listed all kinds of ideas of what to buy from espresso machines to scarves.

For those of you here because you want to get to know a little more about me and the man who raised me, check out this little tribute below:

Growing up we had our fair (okay, maybe a little more than fair) share of highs and lows. Today, my Dad and I have never been closer. I talk to him every day sometimes just to say hi and sometimes to talk about how life has thrown me a curve ball and I don't have the slightest idea what to do. Dads deal with a lot when they have daughters. God bless them though. The world wouldn't spin without 'em!

I turn to my Dad for all kinds of advice. As a (soon-to-be) college grad, I have lots of career and life advice to ask from dear ole Dad. He's accomplished so much in his career and in the community and I respect his opinion in guiding my career. Anyone else have that same feeling? It's really great to have a supportive Dad guiding me when I need it.

He has a special way of changing my spirits right around when I'm down on myself. Life's simply too short to harp on the negativity in your life. Some days that's easier said than done. Overall, I find it to be such a good mantra to try and live by though.

Cheers to you, Dad!
48 years young and so much life ahead of you.
I'm proud to be your daughter today and everyday.
I hope you enjoyed your day yesterday!

Live Colorfully

"Anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink."
- Lilly Pulitzer

Even if it's just an accent here and there, I really love print mixing and all kinds of color.
It's such a fun way to add to your daily life! In my mind, even the dreariest of days can be fixed with a fun bauble from Bauble Bar, colorful skirt from J. Crew and fun pumps from Nordstrom

Another favorite of mine is to mix casual and chic.
Putting a graphic tee with a fun little pencil skirt is a great way to do this! I added this like lace bomber jacket for an extra little bit of fun in the outfit.

Check out a little bit of this look here:

Navy + Neon

What's the best way to survive the deadly winter weather?
Color blocking of course!

I know it's so easy to get into the routine of your basics and bundling down with a scarf as your accessory for the day! But how fun is this to add a little bit of that color {we all miss so much} from those summer days?!

I've put together the PERFECT little outfit to optimize that color blocking task here below...

Put a Bow On It

Kentucky got a lucky little dose of good weather this weekend and I couldn't be more excited about it!
This meant that I got to break out those lightweight sweaters and toss the big puffer coat to the side for a few days. In celebration of this, I thought that a fun little display of bows was necessary!

During the winter season, I tend to stay with darker colors and a red or vibrant lip. Seriously, if I didn't make myself stray from black or burgundy, I could live in it from November-March.

Check out a little dose of what I'm talking about below:

All About That Pump

It's getting cold out there, dolls!

These past couple of weeks I've been investing in a couple of sweaters with this deadly winter that is (predicted to be) upon us. As a Kentucky/Tennessee native, I'm not used to these frigid weather conditions! This sweater, that I found for a perfect price at TJ Maxx, is perfect to keep me cozy warm on chilly days. In fact, I snatched it up in two colors! P.S. Did you all know that they are online now?! I was so excited when I saw them launch a website! You all definitely need to check it out.

I've shared a couple shots of my look with this cozy sweater below...

Let's talk about the real focal point of this post though: THESE STEVE MADDEN PUMPS!

Holiday Green + Stripes

When the holidays roll around, I love putting outfits together to celebrate the season.
Sparkles, green sweaters, red pumps, big skirts, flirty dresses, I love them all!

It only made sense to kick off the holiday season today since THANKSGIVING WEEK has arrived!
Seeing everyone's Instagram and Facebook posts has me so excited to get home to enjoy this holiday of eating, drinking and being merry with those that I love most!

I hope this holiday season is starting off with lots of smiles and laughter for all of you guys :-)
To kick off the season, I decided to put together a simple little holiday outfit. I love that these long fashionable skirts have made a comeback this season. Not to mention the perk of staying just a little bit warmer on this extra chilly start to fall/winter!

Check out a few shots of my look below...

Isn't this look so fun?!

I found this skirt at Nordstrom Rack for SUCH a steal! (P.S. it's still in stock and 75% OFF!)
The skirt looked very Kate Spade and since she is one of my favorite designers, I immediately fell in love! This style is so feminine and chic.

Macy's Friends and Family

How many accessory lovers are there out there?
I'm a little bit of a purse addict myself. I love having a nice staple bag to carry around that will go with anything. Lauren Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors are both great brands to shop for a go-to bag. I love the classic style!

Macy's has just launched their pre-sale for 25% OFF designer brands like Coach, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Brahmin, etc. The sale is December 3rd-10th so make sure to reserve your favorites! It's such a great deal.

I've listed a couple of my top picks on shoes and handbags below.
A few of them are ones that have been featured on recent blog posts!
Snatch these up while you can.

Peplum + Sparkles

With the holidays coming up, who couldn't use a little extra sparkle in their wardrobe?!
I've got some special styling tips for all you you fashionistas out there trying to glisten a little brighter this season.

Adding in a couple simple sparkly necklaces on a shimmering shirt is a perfect way to make those sequins glisten a little bit more. In my look below, I accented it with a grey chandelier necklace that really brought out the most of the shimmer.

Check out a few snapshots of my look here below....

Ripped Jeans + Tweed Jackets

Tiffany blue has always been a favorite of mine.
That's why when I spotted this tweed jacket at Nordstrom, I knew I had to have it.

Adding some multi-strand pearls just seemed to fit my personal style. Also, how Olivia Pope is this tweed jacket?! If only it came in white... ;-) Anywho, in true fashion blogger style, I added a BaubleBar statement necklace and my gold monogram necklace to add a little extra style.

I think this tweed and turquoise just really paired perfectly together.
Such a classic look.

Flashback ( CARIBBEAN ) Friday

Now that the below freezing weather has set in, I'm in full day dream mode of the saltwater and sand.

Are you all going somewhere to escape this cold weather?
What are some of your favorite vacation spots?!

One of the most breathtaking islands I've ever seen is definitely St. John, U.S.V.I. My mom's side of the family jetted off to here a couple of summers ago and it completely took my breath away.
If you ever have the chance to go, don't pass it up.

Check out some of the photos from our trip here below...

Chanel + McQueen

She's baaack, ladies and gentleman!
I just wasn't done gushing over my step sister's style!

I love that she can take one accessory and create a complete, and might I add FLAWLESS, look from it. You honestly won't believe how savvy this girl is. She set out knowing this was the scarf for her and found it on eBay for a steal of a price. The ways to style this Alexander McQueen scarf are endless but the way Lauren put this with a leather moto jacket and black booties was nothing short of perfection!

This look is so chic. I'm excited to share all of the details with you guys!
Check it out below...

Burgundy Bags + Tan Hats

I love a good neutral outfit where I can add in my own pops of color and style.

Wardrobe staples like this beige jacket are absolutely perfect to pair with your sparkly baubles, colorful bags or cozy sweaters. I'm an addict for everything BaubleBar has to offer.

P.S. have you checked out their new line by Emma Roberts?! Amazing, y'all. Go check it out.

I'd love to hear what you think about my look!
Check it out below, dolls...

Nordstrom CLEARANCE Event

Yep, you heard that correctly!

Nordstrom very rarely has Clearance or Sale events but when they do... You had better jump on it! I've been skimming through the sale the last few days and picked out a few favorites.

I mean, how often do you see Tory Burch Riding Boots 40% off??
Or a Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Crossbody at 50% off??

Plus, the holiday season is fast approaching so snag some items for family and friends!

I've put together just a few items that I thought you all should check out below.

Oh, and what about these gold plated booties? EEK!

Black + Glitter

As much as I've resisted the cold weather, it's finally time to pull out the tights.
Of course, pulling out the tights with gold glitter made this transition a little bit easier!

What makes the colder weather a little bit better for you all?

Today I went with a classic look of black and gold. I couldn't just do a solid black look without a few pops of color! A few shimmers of gold and burgundy here and there makes a girl like me pretty happy :-)

Check out some of my look below!

Lauren + Leopard

When I was growing up, I always wished that I had siblings. I was always so jealous of all my friends who had older sisters to grow up with, share wardrobes with, spend family vacations with, etc. Don't get me wrong, being an only child had it's perks. It just would have been nice to have a sibling to share the memories with :-).

A little over a year and a half ago, my Dad met Cathy (my stepmom) and that's when I got to meet Lauren (my stepsister). We're not that different in age with Lauren being 24 and me being 22. There was a bit of a transitional period where my only child self poked out. I didn't know how I felt about sharing my Dad! I'd never had to do that before! After the transitional period settled, getting to know Lauren was actually really awesome.

As we've started to get know each other more, I've seen that we have a lot in common. It's exciting for me that now I have someone for my kids to call "Aunt", share a wardrobe with (I'm all over this leopard skirt of yours, girlfriend!), and spend family vacations with (BTW, 55 days now ;-).
Really though, I've got a really great step sister, y'all.

One of the things I love about Lauren is her sense of style. Like, I want her entire wardrobe. I decided that sharing Lauren with you all was a must!
Check out a few of the shots I took of her....

Saturday Shopping

Here lately I've been perusing holiday season items.

Considering I love all things that shimmer, holiday attire is right up my alley. Although this isn't a "sale Saturday", all the items below are reasonably priced (ESPECIALLY these gold flats). I hope you all find this start to your Saturday shopping helpful!

Check out a couple of my favorites below...

Some of these are classics (i.e. the fringe ankle booties) but how fun are the gold plated bottom booties?! I've been dying over this pair of shoes for a while now. Aren't they so unique? I just love them!

Cape Cod (Kwassa Kwassa)

Even before KJP + Sarah made Cape Cod cool, I've been in love.

You're just a ferry ride away from Martha's Vineyard + Nantucket.
What could be better?

I visited this gorgeous peninsula about a year and a half ago and I already can't wait to get back. The place is surrounded with history. Walking the streets all I could think about was... JFK and Jackie walked these same roads and possibly ate at this same restaurant. How much greater can it get? It's just such an awesome experience, you guys. If you've never been, book your flight NOW! Be spontaneous!

No, but really you have to see it.

Check out a few of my snapshots from the trip below.
